Bye for now!

We're Home

Hello everyone,

We are finally home to the green grass with no rickshaws, trucks, etc honking, beeping or just making noise. YES!!!!!!!  Daddy and I stayed in Chicago for 6 hours waiting because "Theo's plane was delayed," and yes that's true.  Unfortunately, Theo could not get on the same plane as us from Newark to Chicago, so Daddy and I stayed behind to wait for Theo, but Mommy, Neni, and Sam went home.  Daddy and I got on the Hertz bus to go get the rental car and then headed off to find something to eat.  We decided to stop at Pizza Hut for there pizza/salad buffet and sat down to my first real Mountain Dew in 8 months. YUM.  Then we went through the salad buffet and waited for the pizza to come out.  It was a very good meal to bring us into the American culture again.  I couldn't stop smiling at how friendly everyone was.  It really is a contrast to the somewhat rude, unfriendly Indian culture.  After we ate we went to Home Depot and looked around, then we went to Best Buy, and then Target.  It was AWESOME to be home and still is!  Then we went to pick up Theo who was ecstatic to see us after being in a cage for 32 hours. We let him out to go potty and then got in the car and headed home.  From about 2 to 6 the time change hits you the most, because it is around the time when you have the deepest sleep.  I felt quite tired in the car, but would not fall asleep. If you do nap you have a fair chance of getting barely any sleep that night, so I stayed up and just looked out the window.  We got home at about 6:00 and saw the beautiful green grass and blue sky of our neighborhood.  We went to one of our favorite restaurants Qdoba and then came home and fell asleep.  (We had stayed up the whole night!!!)

Then we've been on our feet ever since, as we haven't stopped running.  Saturday we went to church, had potluck, came home, rested, then we went over to Jon, Laura, and Kate's house (the new pastors family's house)  and spent the rest of the day there.  We had a great time.  The next day we went to the church to help set up for VBS--Sonrise National Park VBS 2012.  Then Monday through Friday we went to VBS from 6 to 8 p.m..  On Monday we added two new additions to our lives Claire (a dwarf rabbit) and CiCi (a lion head rabbit)  they are both adorable and are 6 weeks old.  Neni left and most things are back to normal.  It's great to be home, but we miss our friends back in India A LOT!!!!!!!

Bye for now and I'll post pics soon!!!

We made it to the Taj!!!

First off, you won't read this now since we are in the car. Secondly we made it to the Taj Mahal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We arrived in Agra yesterday and 20 minutes in we saw the Taj. There's nothing like the feeling of seeing something like that. It's like a rush of excitement runs through your body. An amazing feeling. Sure in of you could see the Taj from our hotel so we walked 3/4 of the way there. It was like we're we're walking dollars. We went back to the hotel and watched the sun disappear.
We ate supper and then went to bed.

We woke up and got ready to go to the Taj Mahal. We left at 6:30 in the morning. The sun was already up and shining down heat. We got our ticket 750 ruppes for adult foreigners and 20 ruppes for adult Indians. Ugh... Kids are free though so that's nice. When went out we were surrounded by bicycle rickshaws and a horse buggy. We wanted to ride in he horse buggy so daddy asked how much it would be. He says 10$. We said no and told him only 100 rupees. He finally agreed and we rode a horse buggy to the Taj Mahal. We picked up a guide on the way. You can't really explain how big, complex, and just how amazing it is. But it's really cool. If you didn't know the guy who built it his son locked him away after he started a second Taj Mahal which was to be black. Today you can still the beginning of the structure, which is pretty cool!!!

It was awesome.

So today were of to Agra. Excited/Dreading at the same time. Yesterday it was quite funny. We got to the hotel which is pretty nice... The funny part was around 8:30 at night a little girl came up and asked to play. Daddy told her to come up in a half hour after we ate. She didn't come and daddy and I took Theo outside. Then on a way back the little girl came to our house. She is eight and she lived in Canada for a little while. So that was interesting. Oh and this is my 100th post!!! YEAH!!!!!!
Bye for now

My last post in Pune

Well I guess this is it... My last post in Pune... a sad/happy feeling plus excitement. Right now we are sitting in the airport waiting for our plane. Which is supposed to be coming in 25 minutes. Yesterday we said goodbye to the Vanloocks,(Karen, Ignuss, Nora, and Lena. Swains, (Janelda, Zac,and Terry, and the Gansauge's Leigh, Rene, and Benjamin.............. That was pretty hard and sad. Before we leave India I have to do one more post and this will be most likely in Delhi or on the plane to Delhi. Here are a couple of pics...
