Catching Up!

Hey everybody!

A lot has happended since I last posted.
School is going well and it is almost over!  Amazing how quickly this year went!  Only four more days and it will all be over for the summer!

In science we have just finished up our last unit on rocks and minerals and taken a test on which I recieved 91 percent which is pretty good!  In music we finished up our drum unit and then learned a song for Memorial Day, "Fly High You Grand Old Flag."  K-3rd grade sang the first part and 4-6th sang the 2nd part of the song. We also were able to play this computer baseball game with questions about composers and once we got 20 runs, our music teacher let us play a real game of baseball!  So after we got 20 runs we went outside for a game of baseball and so far our team is winning!

In art we are making creations out of recyclable items and my group is making a type of giant that eats trash and recyclable items, and grows bigger everytime it eats some more. The lesson it is teaching is that you must recycle and throw away garbage. (I came up with that :) So that is pretty fun. In P.E. we just recently had a track day!  All of the 6th graders from all the schools in the district gathered at the highschool to do track and field events.  I was on the white team and like always (Hee Hee) my team won--we won by about 30 or 40 points. It was a lot of fun!

In social studies we are learning about Ancient Rome which is ok but not awesome as I am not a complete fan of social studies.  We are also working on our WWII projects for the end of the year.  This is where we have to comlete activities that have to do with WWII and the Holocaust.  This project has probably been my favorite or at least one of my favorites of the whole year!  Math is going well and we just took our last test., so I am crossing my fingers that it will turn out well!  We are also getting the year book ready and I am and editor, which is the best job because you are basically the teachers assistants!  We also get to supervise all of the different committees.  There are 7 committees in total, pictures, toddler photos, favorites, most likely to...blank..., teacher pages, current events, and editors.  There are four editors Miguel, Lila, Clause, and I which is a lot of fun!  The yearbook is almost done and I am looking forward to getting one of them!

Izzy and I usually play basketball for recess which is actually getting a lot more fun then it used to be as no one used to pass us the ball.  But after proving ourselves a few times they finally pass us the ball. (Most of them :P) This one guy I who used to never pass me the ball, but he is starting to now, and I think it might have to do with the fact of how many times I've yelled at him to pass me the ball.  There is also the occasional (almost every time actually) time that the guys that our not on my team try to get me to pass them the ball which is annoying.  There is the one boy **n**m** that in the beginning used to always try to get me to pass him the ball even when I wasn't on his team.  So now every time I play I always ask him to pass me the ball and he will then say "but I'm not on your team" and I will reply "Are you sure?" and he will say, "Yeah," and I will reply again, "Positive?"  It is actually quite amusing!

Outside of school it is also going well and I am sooo looking forward to this summer!  Let me tell you about it: so first of Sam and I are going to this acting camp for two weeks where we are going to perform Annie (the movie Annie) and that will be a lot of fun (I hope.)  Second of all we are going to Chicago for a week for my Dad's work and get to hang around there.  Thirdly we are probably going to see some our old friends this summer, fourth we have Strings Camp which is a lot of fun.  And now for the best ever.................We are going to Europe!!!!!!!!!!!  Also for my dad's work, but we are taking an extra 2 weeks or so to travel around.  We hope to go to Italy, France, England, and Germany!  I am very excited!!!!

Something else that happened is that I am 12 now!  As you can see, a lot has happened.  We were also on TV on Paula Sands Live which was awesome.  We were able to play our violins with this guy named Ben who is a great viola/violinist!  He can also play guitar and he is very good!

Well, that's about it for now...

Write soon!

  1. Whoa! I was getting out of breath just reading your post, you are one busy girl!

School is almost over and it sounds like you had quite an enjoyable year. What a great experience to be one of the editors!

It sounds like your summer is going to be as busy as your school year, a trip to Europe will be quite an education as well as an experience. I am guessing that you are going to go to Germany first and then branch out from there?

If you can send me a video link of the TV show you were on, I would really like to see it.

Keep us all posted, you little globe trotter, you!

    Love you, Neni
